Update on Church of Nations and English Conversations

Dear International Friends and Church of the Nations family,

As most of you know Pastor Rick started July 1st at a new position in another church and last week we gave him a goodbye reception.  It was a good reception and a big “thank you” to all of you who helped to give our beloved Pastor Rick and Armetta a wonderful sending forth on Sunday June 26th.   Internationals were so well represented by those who attended, by those who spoke, and by those who wrote cards and gave words of appreciation and well-wishes.  We will all certainly miss Rick as a preacher, pastor, scholar, teacher, and friend.

However, as we send him forth to a new ministry we know he would want us to carry on and have Church of the Nations still be a beacon of light for those away from home, and be a family and show hospitality and friendship to each other and to other Internationals in our community who might need a home and family away from home.  In this transition time each and every one of you is important in this ministry and together we can continue the work that was so precious to Rick and that has touched many internationals for over 31 years.

Our church family is also missing our stalwart volunteers who have been with the Church of the Nations since its beginning – Leo and Margaret Stanley.   Leo is needing to stay close to home at this time because of health issues, and Margaret is taking care of him right now.  They will be with us as much as they can and ask for our prayers.  If you would like to visit them be sure and call first to be sure it is a good time for them.

So, this is a time the rest of us need to be faithful to being at church every Sunday and all helping to carry on the ministry.  Reverend Jeff Day (Pastor Jeff) has agreed to preach and be with Church of the Nations for now; Jeff has preached at Church of the Nations before, and was the man who was the Master of Ceremonies for Rick’s reception.  He is a good man with a good spirit and has always had a heart for people of many diverse backgrounds all coming together in love.  He will preach starting this Sunday (July 9, 2017) and we encourage everyone to be there to give him a warm welcome.

Other Church of Nations activities are also continuing, namely:
